Cable Monitoring System (CMS)

On demand, UCL can provide Cable Monitoring System using Distributed Temperature Sensor (DTS) system and offers complete package including installation and commissioning, training and maintenance.

DTS System, using Optic Fibre Cables is recognised world over as the most reliable technology for monitoring optimal power transmission and distribution in Power Cable System and its protection. This system enables the user to monitor and record the Real Time Temperature profile of the entire power route and avoid development of “hot spots” and situation leading to ‘thermal run away” of cable and its joints.

• DTS system measures temperature either by using optic fibre cable embedded with the power cable or an external optical fibre cable running along the length of power cable.

• Continuous temperature profile using a single optical fibre as the sensing element

• Sensor length up to many kilometres

• Monitor thousands of points in seconds

Featured Projects & Achievements

132/33kV Moulali ZTS Substation Turnkey Project (TSTRANSCO, Telangana)

• Complete turnkey delivery—including supply, erection, testing, and commissioning—of the 132/33kV Moulali ZTS Substation, two 132kV bays, and 4km of 132kV XLPE underground copper cable.

• Full system integration and successful operation since commissioning, with major circuits energized in 2021 and 2022.

132/33kV GIS Substation & Associated Underground Cable at Manikonda (TSTRANSCO, Telangana)

• Comprehensive installation of a 132/33kV GIS substation with 2x80MVA transformers, integration with 2.5km 132kV XLPE DC underground cable, and complete GIS module delivery.

• The system is fully operational since September 2022, demonstrating advanced underground cabling and automation capability.

Model Subdivision Works, N4 Subdivision, Peenya Division (BESCOM, Bangalore)

• Supply, installation, and commissioning of 24 feeders, HT/LT XLPE cables, distribution transformers, and associated equipment.

• The ₹155.025 crore project, completed in April 2020, continues to operate with full client satisfaction.

Additional 10MVA, 110/11kV Transformer at Moratagi Substation (KPTCL, Karnataka)

• Successful delivery and commissioning of 1x10MVA transformer with all associated infrastructure, including advanced switchgear and protection systems.

• Commissioned in 2018, with continued high performance certified by KPTCL.
